Sponsored Programs Director directs and oversees externally funded programs for a university/college such as research programs and scholarship programs. Responsible for managing the administrative activities of the program including identifying funding sources, acquiring funding, setting program policies and objectives, and allocating resources. Being a Sponsored Programs Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Sponsored Programs Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Job Goal
To implement and maintain curriculum which conforms to district and state objectives; to provide written support and/or convey information; to serve as a resource to other school personnel, the Board and other districts; and to maintain adequate staffing to ensure that objectives of programs and services are achieved within budget guidelines.
Performance Functions
•Coordinates the following district level programs: Pre-K program, kindergarten program, Montessori elementary and parenting.
•Coordinates the implementation of the state curriculum standards/programs in grades pre-kindergarten through six.
•Coordinates with other directors and principals to ensure horizontal and vertical continuity and articulation of the instructional programs throughout the district.
•Coordinates the gifted and talented program.
•Collaborates with other directors and principals in the planning and coordination of the district’s staff development program.
•Develops, implements, aligns and evaluates pre-kindergarten thru grade six curriculum and instructional programs.
•Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
•Performs other related duties as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
•Coordinates with school administrators and programs at assigned elementary schools for the purpose of ensuring individual and site performance objectives are met.
•Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the work unit.
