The Sponsored Programs Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Sponsored Programs Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Purpose:
    The Projects Coordinator supports all aspects of the grant proposal life cycle from preparation through submission, coordinates student research activities, and supports and coordinates other projects in the Office of Research Support and Sponsored Programs and Division of External Affairs.

    Essential Duties:
    • Support department efforts to encourage sponsored research and other grant activity, including outreach to campus partners and stakeholders, grant program identification, development and writing, and facilitating and assisting grant teams

    • Assists with assembling required grant attachments and paperwork prior to grant application submission (i.e., Externally Funded Project Approval Forms (EFPAs), budget forms, supporting documentation, support letters, cover letters, institutional narrative content, etc.)

    • Work with Office of Institutional Reporting and Data Analytics and other campus partners to develop and maintain commonly needed grant information and templates and to assist grant writers with gathering institutional data relevant to particular grant submissions

    • Track and celebrate student research, collaborate with academic affairs to coordinate the annual celebration of student scholars event and track other student research and faculty scholarship activities.

    • Assists with the timely submission of grants, grant document retention and with reporting on departmental activity.Assists in the creation of various publications to report out internally and externally on research, sponsored programs and external affairs projects

    • Assist with writing post-award non-research programmatic reports and develops database to assist with timely submission of programmatic reports for all awards

    Minimum Education Requirements:
    • Bachelors degree in relevant field is required

    Preferred Education:

    Minimum Job Experience Requirements:
    - At least two (2) years experience in project management, higher education, non-profit, government or related fields- Experience with grants and sponsored project administration is preferred

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Schedule/Work Hours:
    Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Additional hours as required.
