Compensation: $45,000-$55,000
Description:
Reporting to Director of Operations, the Director of Programs (Director) leads the day-to-day oversight of operations for all Clubs within the Director’s management portfolio. The Director will oversee the program strategy, personnel management, safety, grant administration, and budget execution of their assigned Clubs. The Director works as a part of the organization’s Operations leadership team to strategically plan for and realize organization-wide growth opportunities.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Operations & Strategy:
Ensure the implementation and delivery of operations, programs, services, and activities that facilitate achievement of youth development outcomes.
Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve program effectiveness and Club membership within assigned portfolio.
Ensure that key elements for positive youth development, social-emotional learning, and Youth Program Quality Intervention are ingrained in each Club.
Monitor progress towards fulfilling programmatic grant requirements, including related evaluations.
Monitor, review, and implement annual site goals to increase impact (average daily attendance, NYOI scores, youth academic enhancement, evaluation systems, etc.)
Ensure efficient membership registration procedures and accurate program attendance tracking throughout all sites.
Cultivate partnerships within community organizations and regional school systems Ensure that programs are developmentally safe and culturally inclusive for all Club members.
Safety:
Conduct regular Club visits to observe programming and assess safety and risk.
Serve as point of escalation, feedback and approval for reportable club incidents.
Ensure that Club environments are physically and psychologically safe places for Club members.
Personnel/Professional Development:
Recruit, hire and supervise Club Directors (6-10 direct staff) at assigned clubs by providing support, coaching, feedback, supervision, and guidance to effectively manage high performing teams.
Ensure all employees, volunteers, and other individuals follow Club policies and standard operating procedures.
Assist direct reports in the hiring of staff in assigned clubs.
Assist in the development and implementation of standard professional development opportunities and expectations for staff.
Participate in BGCMHK’s Training Committee and serve as a key player in the development of training and onboarding for all staff.
Finance & Grants:
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study or equivalent youth development/managerial experience.
A minimum of 3 years works experience in operations management and supervision at a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth development organization.
Considerable knowledge and commitment to the mission of Boys & Girls Club of Manhattan.
Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, and coordinate operations, personnel management, and budget management.
Strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain active CPR & First Aid certification.
A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy is also a requirement.
