Being a Sportsbook Writer possesses knowledge of sports betting as it relates to handicapping, point spreads, and money lines. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Sportsbook Writer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Sportsbook Writer may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Under the supervision of the Sportsbook Shift Manager, the incumbent assists the manager in the operation of the Sportsbook area including, but not limited to placing bets and approving and denying wagers. High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of Sportsbook experience or Bachelor degree and six (6) months of Sportsbook experience. Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee conflicts in a fast pace environment. Due to the nature of the business must maintain a flexible work schedule, willing to work nights, weekends and holidays. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.
