Staff Nurse - RN - Burn provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in the burn unit. Examines, prepares, cleans, and dresses patient burn wounds. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Burn evaluates, plans, and documents nursing care for burn patients, as needed. Promotes patients' well-being by teaching patients and families to understand burn wound conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Burn may administer medication and IV treatments to alleviate patients' pain and discomfort. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. UPMC Mercy Hospital is searching for a full-time nurse to support our Trauma Burn ICU! This nurse position will work rotating 3 x 12-hour shifts each week, with shift times typically starting at 7am and 7pm. When you work an overnight shift, you will receive an extra $2.00 per hour on top of your base pay. Mercy's Trauma Burn ICU is a 9-bed ICU and Hydrotherapy Department that specializes in the adult population for trauma injuries and pediatric through geriatric for burn injuries. This unique unit is only 1 of 68 nationwide ABA Burn Centers and has been recognized nationally for their amazing work.
