Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice provides professional nursing care to assigned terminally ill patients in a hospice environment. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice performs examinations and prescribed procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' condition and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Care Initiatives is currently hiring an On-Call Hospice nurse. This role offers 7 days on and 7 days off as a FT position. This position takes calls from 4:30 P.M until 8:00 A.M. each night as well as taking calls through the weekend. Some scheduled visits may also be assigned.

    What it takes to become a Hospice Nurse - On Call:
    • RN with a minimum of two years of recent clinical nursing experience.
    • Current, valid CPR certification.
    • Demonstrated patience and a supportive and sensitive approach to providing patient, family, and caregiver support.
    • Willingness and ability to provide care in facility and patient home settings.
