Staff Nurse - RN - Infection Control performs hospital-wide surveillance and data collection as part of an overall infection-control program. Investigates possible incidences of infection and implements remedial action. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Infection Control works with the infection control committee to establish infection control standards and procedures, and educates staff on how to prevent and control infections. Informs the appropriate state and county organizations of any reportable infections and diseases. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Infection Control typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. May require CIC certification. Staff Nurse - RN - Infection Control's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Weekly Gross: $ 3,560 (based on 40 hours)
Estimated NET: $ 3,032 (based on 40 hours)
Misc. and I E : $ 800(non-tax weekly)
Lodging : $ 900 per week
OT Rate: $ 100/hour (after 40 hours)
Weekly gross $ 4,360 (Based on 48 hours)
Est. Weekly Net $ 3,592 (Based on 48 hours)
Holds and maintains CIC issued by CBIC; and
2. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Epidemiology, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Nursing or a related discipline and four (4) years of satisfactory clinical experience or experience working in infection prevention and control, health care epidemiology or a related field in a hospital or a health care setting; or
3. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in #2 above; and five (5) years of satisfactory experience, as described in #2 above.
