Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in need of intravenous treatment. Administers intravenous therapeutic treatments as directed by a physician. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy determines appropriate venipuncture and/or catheter site. Observes patients' IV treatment and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. May require CRNI certification as an infusion nurse. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. JOB SUMMARY
-
The Infusion Center Charge Nurse, under the direction of the Outpatient Services Director, proactively coordinates patient care activities and ensures the nursing process is carried out by demonstrating infusion therapy standards of care including IV insertions, Port-a-Cath management, blood transfusions, performing nursing assessment, specialty infusion and chemotherapy. Collaborates with unit staff and Nursing Management in the development and implementation of unit goals, patient safety and performance improvement activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
-
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of recent relevant infusion therapy experience; verifiable clinical competence.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Registered Nurse. Certification in associated specialty area of nursing or obtains within two (2) years of meeting eligibility requirements. Must obtain Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) provider card within two (2) years of start date in department. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network.

Education: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or its equivalent in a related field.

Experience: Previous supervisor experience.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification in infusion therapy. Certification in chemotherapy infusion.
