Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in need of intravenous treatment. Administers intravenous therapeutic treatments as directed by a physician. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy determines appropriate venipuncture and/or catheter site. Observes patients' IV treatment and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. May require CRNI certification as an infusion nurse. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.     Overview

    Registered nurses provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require care. Registered staff nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate nursing care for their assigned patients. Registered staff nurses provide patient and family education and advocate for their needs. Registered nurses coordinate patient care with nonprofessional personnel as necessary.

    Responsibilities

    • Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age-appropriate plan of care for the patient and family that promotes optimal patient outcomes.
    • Meets the educational needs of the patient and family and advocates for their needs.
    • Maintains an environment that is safe, comfortable, efficient, and family-centered.
    • Utilizes current research and evidence for practice to expand personal professional knowledge, enhance role performance, and improve nursing care quality.

    Qualifications

    • Associate's Degree Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role. and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training
    • Bachelor's Degree Preferred for all direct care nurses hired after September 1, 2013. Direct care nurses hired after this date without a BSN, must complete their degree within 5 years of their hire date. and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training
    • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
    • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
    • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
    • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
    • Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred Upon Hire

    Starting Pay

    Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $29.00/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

     

    Remote Work/Work from Home

    This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
