Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in need of intravenous treatment. Administers intravenous therapeutic treatments as directed by a physician. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy determines appropriate venipuncture and/or catheter site. Observes patients' IV treatment and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. May require CRNI certification as an infusion nurse. Requires a valid state RN license. As part of the pool of contracted clinical and specialized resources, the Infusion Nurse operates as an Independent Contractor responding to patient case referrals which are posted electronically and sourced from a Referrals Coordinator who is located at the home offices of Infusion Partners 360 in Corona, California, [hereinafter referred to as “IP360”]. In this role, the Infusion Nurse receives daily updates on available patient cases and accepts or declines referrals based on his/her availability and workload preferences. Upon case acceptance, the Infusion Nurse is the primary point of contact and specialized provider for the administration and care management of intravenous infusion therapy, whether it be a one-time dose, or part of the intermittent or long-term chronic care treatment plan individualized for each patient.
Duties:
- Administer infusion therapy to patients in accordance with physician orders
- Monitor patients during infusion therapy and assess for any adverse reactions or complications
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding infusion therapy and self-care at home
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients receiving infusion therapy.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California
- Minimum of 1 years of experience as an RN, preferably in an acute care setting
- Experience administering injections and performing patient assessments
- Knowledge of infusion therapy procedures.
- Familiarity with various types of infusion medications and their potential side effects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
