Staff Nurse - RN - Long-Term Care jobs in Danbury, CT
Staff Nurse - RN - Long-Term Care provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in a long-term care facility. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient long-term care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Long-Term Care assists physicians during examinations and procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Long-Term Care promotes patients' independence by teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Job Description
As a registered nurse (RN), you will provide care for patients dealing with illness or injury. Depending on your role, you'll work at a hospital, outpatient center, private practice, home health, telemedicine, nursing facility, clinic or other facility. You'll perform tasks like assessing patients, developing care plans, administering medication, providing treatment, assisting with surgery, changing bandages, monitoring vitals and maintaining records. You'll also provide continued support and education to patients, promoting their overall health and ensuring they have the tools to recover and prevent further health issues.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent acute care experience in specialty
- ASN, ADN, BSN or MSN required
