Staff Nurse - RN - Long-Term Care jobs in Fort Smith, AR
Staff Nurse - RN - Long-Term Care provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in a long-term care facility. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient long-term care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Long-Term Care assists physicians during examinations and procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Long-Term Care promotes patients' independence by teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. MORE ABOUT THE RN REGISTERED NURSE – LONG TERM ACUTE CARE (LTAC) POSITION:
- Receive admission and / or transfers to the unit
- Initial and on-going systematic patient assessment
- Timely and accurate documentation
- Interpret assessments / diagnostic data including labs and telemetry
- Promote continuous quality improvement
- Respond to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatment
- Act as a patient advocate while providing education and support to patients and their families
- Demonstrate excellence in customer service and public relations to promote a positive professional image
JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE RN REGISTERED NURSE – LONG TERM ACUTE CARE (LTAC) POSITION:
- 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience
- Valid RN license in Georgia or your state of practice
- ICU experience or Stepdown experience required
- Advanced MS/Tele experience preferred
- Basic Life support (BLS) and ACLS certification required
- Experience with Trachs, Vents, Hemodymanics, Critical Drips, ET Tubes and Wound Care
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
