Staff Nurse - RN - Long-Term Care jobs in Mobile, AL
Staff Nurse - RN - Long-Term Care provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in a long-term care facility. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient long-term care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Long-Term Care assists physicians during examinations and procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Long-Term Care promotes patients' independence by teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Qualifications:
- Current Alabama RN License
- Experience in long-term care nursing
- Staff Development is a plus, but training is available for RNs with long-term care experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Positive attitude toward the elderly
Essential Job Functions
- To direct in-service educational programs and new hire orientation following current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility, and as may be controlled by the Administrator.
- Ensure that the highest degree of quality resident care is always maintained.
- Providing nursing staff with clinical and educational support and guidance
- Planning and implementing orientation and mentoring programs for all nursing employees
- Maintain the nurses' and CNA's schedules
- Monday through Friday with rotating call and work one weekend monthly
