Staff Nurse - RN - Occupational Health provides professional nursing care to on-site employees. Treats occupational injuries and illnesses, referring patients to emergency care facilities or outside medical resources as needed. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Occupational Health performs pre-employment physical examinations, including vision and hearing screenings, blood work, and other related tests. Maintains employee medical records and ensures that record-keeping procedures comply with legal and confidentiality requirements. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Occupational Health may be responsible for administering flu vaccination, workers' compensation, disability, and/or employee health and safety training programs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent. Requires a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Staff Nurse - RN - Occupational Health work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     The Staff Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. The tasks and responsibilities include:

    • Creating an environment that leads to a positive patient care experience by evaluating, planning and implementing effective plans of care and communicating with both patients and their families
    • Serving as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care in an acute or clinic settings
    • Making sound decisions in response to changes in condition/response to treatment while maintaining a calm demeanor
    • Utilizing the Electronic Health Record to document patient care
    • Effectively coordinating with physicians and team members regarding changes in patient status, symptomatology, results of diagnostic tests and critical test values
