Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology provides professional nursing care to assigned oncology patients. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications including chemotherapy, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology assists oncologists during examinations and procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology teaches patients and families about conditions and treatment options. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. May require ONS/ONCC certification to deliver chemotherapy. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Position Summary
The Oncology Nurse Practitioner is an exempt position that works collaboratively with an oncology physician and other staff; provides care within the scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, regulations, institutional policy and practice agreements; writes orders and prescriptions when needed; provides comprehensive care to patients in an inpatient setting; demonstrates a high degree of clinic expertise in working with oncology patients in active treatment; assesses, diagnosis, treats, manages, educates, encourages health promotion and care coordination for oncology patients and their families; demonstrates an advanced level of medical/nursing clinic knowledge; works with administration, nursing and physicians to assure safe, effective, quality patient care and promotes Charleston Oncology’s mission; complies with all federal, state and local laws, including but not limited to HIPAA, OSHA, ADA, ACA, etc., laws, health and safety standards, etc., and performs other essential functions when necessary.

Education
Minimum--Master of Science in Nursing
Experience
2 years Oncology experience preferred or 1 year as a nurse practitioner
