Join our team at Lifefirst Imaging and Oncology to play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients undergoing radiation therapy treatment.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with radiation oncologists and other healthcare providers to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout the radiation therapy treatment process.

Educate patients and their families about the radiation therapy treatment plan, potential side effects, and self-care measures.

Provide emotional support and counseling to patients as they navigate the challenges of cancer treatment.

Assist in the management of treatment-related side effects and complications, including wound care and symptom management.

Document patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in accordance with clinic policies and procedures.

Maintain a safe and clean environment in the radiation oncology clinic, adhering to infection control protocols and safety regulations.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities to enhance nursing practice and patient care outcomes.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including radiation therapists, medical physicists, and oncologists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.

Qualifications:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alabama.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Certification in oncology nursing (OCN) or radiation oncology nursing (CRON) highly desirable.

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.

Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Willingness to participate in ongoing education and training related to radiation oncology nursing practice.
