Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care provides professional nursing care to assigned pediatric patients in a home care environment. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient home care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care performs examinations and prescribed procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care promotes patients' independence by teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Responsibilities for Skilled Nursing performed by (RNs and LPNs)
· In Home Skilled Nursing Care (RN/LPN) involves all client's care - the needs of our client's range from medication administration, g-tube feeding, seizure monitoring and management, oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and infusion nursing services - We train you on each individual client to ensure your competency in his/her care
· One-on-one care - in home skilled nursing care following the client's plan of care
· Provide all client care in a manner that reflects respect for client rights, dignity, values, culture preferences, and expressed needs
· Assess client's physical, psychological, and social needs
· Documentation of client's care including assessments and narrative of care provided
· Support client and client's family in educating them on client's care and changes in client's condition
Qualifications -
· Must possess a current, valid RN or LPN North Carolina license
· Certification in CPR
· Trach and Vent Experience preferred but will train
· Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
· Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professionalism during stressful times
· Dedicated to provide the best client care possible
