Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care provides professional nursing care to assigned pediatric patients in a home care environment. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient home care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care performs examinations and prescribed procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care promotes patients' independence by teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Canyon Home Care is hiring for Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work 1 on 1 with pediatric patients on weekends for 8-12 hour day and Night shifts. Training available for new or inexperienced nurses.

Responsibilities:
- Initiates the plan of care when directed and requests from prescriber any necessary revisions as patient status and needs change - Incorporates therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions based on patient diagnosis and established goals
- Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, as well as monitors and documents effectiveness of intervention - Reviews plan of care and program protocols and identifies areas for healthcare teaching/education, care coordination, goal setting and discharge planning needs, as applicable
Requirements:
- Current Health Certificate (per facility Registered Nurse (RN) contract or state regulation). - Current PPD or Chest X-Ray. - Current BLS card.
