Staff Nurse - RN - Phone Triage jobs in Salem, OR

Position Summary:

Provides patient care and clinical support for the providers in the clinic. Triages and prioritizes incoming patient concerns, conferring with physicians, following through on physician orders, relaying information to patients and keeping up to date on Gastroenterology disease processes and medications to best care for our patient population.

Essential Job Functions:

• Triages all patient related telephone calls. Assesses situations and consults with the physician, and prioritizes calls according to severity or need.
• Accurately relays physician orders to patients, hospitals, pharmacies, and other agencies.
• Documents patient orders and outcomes.
• Responsible for timely reviewing and addressing patient related documents.
• Assesses patient compliance with medications, treatments, and appointments.
• Provides patient and family education and serves as an educator for nursing and other staff.
• Other responsibilities as directed by physicians or management.

Required Qualifications:

• Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing
• Current RN License in the State of Oregon.
• Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work with a diverse patient population.
• Strong organizational and clerical skills, including computer proficiency.
• Demonstrates the ability to make sound decisions with available information.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Nursing Experience: 1 year

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.00 - $46.26 per hour
