1. Clinical Leadership:

   • Provide direct supervision and leadership to nursing staff within the assigned unit.
   • Monitor and assess the quality of patient care, ensuring compliance with established protocols, standards, and regulations.
   • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents.
   • Assess and address residents' health needs and emergencies promptly.
   • Ensure the accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.

2. Staff Management:

   • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate nursing staff within the unit.
   • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
   • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, policies, and procedures.
   • Address staff performance issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
   • Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage scheduling to meet resident care needs.

3. Quality Assurance:

   • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care practices within the unit.
   • Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
   • Conduct regular audits of documentation, infection control measures, and other relevant processes.
   • Participate in regulatory surveys and inspections, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

4. Communication and Collaboration:

   • Maintain open and effective communication with residents, their families, and healthcare team members.
   • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and integrate resident care.
   • Communicate effectively with the Director of Nursing, Nursing Home Administrator, and other department heads.

5. Education and Training:

   • Provide ongoing education and training to nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
   • Ensure staff compliance with mandatory training requirements.
   • Stay updated on current trends, best practices, and advancements in long-term care nursing.
