Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room provides professional nursing care to assigned post-operative patients. Monitors vital signs, administers medications, including intravenous medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with surgeons and anesthesiologists. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room provides support to patients waking up from anesthesia, including bandage maintenance, pain management, nausea treatment, and ensuring patients receive adequate rest, fluids and nutrients. Observes patients' progress, records observations in patient medical records, and updates attending physicians directly when necessary. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room teaches patients how to clean bandages, take medication, and follow post-surgical care instructions. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Pay range for this position is $30.85 - $46.85/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure.

$5,000 for new grad RNs (internal and external)
$15,000 for RNs with 1 years of RN experience (external only)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Protects, promotes and restores health and wellness by practicing at the highest level of the Registered Nurse licensure; collaborating with providers and multidisciplinary care team members to provide care coordination across the continuum.
Assesses and supports physical symptoms, provides psychological support to patients, friends, and families, mentors assigned team members, promotes best practices, and maintains professional disposition at all times.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
License/Certifications:
-Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing in appropriate state (Illinois or Michigan)
-Current American Heart Association HealthCare Provider
-BLS is required prior to start date of employment.
