Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant jobs in Killeen, TX

Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant provides direct patient care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative period. Assists surgeon during surgical procedures by positioning skin preparation, providing wound exposure, performing tissue dissection, suturing, and other surgical tasks. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant administers medications and IV treatments as necessary. Participates in discharge planning and counsels patients and caregivers on appropriate post-operative care. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR). Requires Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Requirements

    * High School Diploma or Equivalent
    * At least 18 years of age
    * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; bank or 1-3 years audit experience may be substituted
    * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    * Ability to maintain confidentiality
    * Effective verbal & written communication skills
    * Must be detail oriented, analytical, and organized
    * Must successfully pass background investigation and drug screen according to company policy
    * Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
    * Must be a self-starter and possess self-discipline to work independently
