Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant jobs in Portland, OR
Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant provides direct patient care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative period. Assists surgeon during surgical procedures by positioning skin preparation, providing wound exposure, performing tissue dissection, suturing, and other surgical tasks. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant administers medications and IV treatments as necessary. Participates in discharge planning and counsels patients and caregivers on appropriate post-operative care. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR). Requires Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job Description
As a registered nurse (RN), you will provide care for patients dealing with illness or injury. Depending on your role, you'll work at a hospital, outpatient center, private practice, home health, telemedicine, nursing facility, clinic or other facility. You'll perform tasks like assessing patients, developing care plans, administering medication, providing treatment, assisting with surgery, changing bandages, monitoring vitals and maintaining records. You'll also provide continued support and education to patients, promoting their overall health and ensuring they have the tools to recover and prevent further health issues.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent acute care experience in specialty
- Active RN license
