Stationary Engineer operates, repairs, and maintains stationary equipment including boilers, generators, refrigeration, and turbines in buildings, plants or industrial facilities. Ensures that equipment is operating safely and within established limits. Being a Stationary Engineer conducts monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges and controls to determine the need for repair or replacement of parts. Performs preventative maintenance and documents completed procedures. Additionally, Stationary Engineer requires a high school diploma. Requires applicable Stationary Engineer's license for the state. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Stationary Engineer works under moderate supervision. SCOPE: Inspection and management assistance of construction projects in the area: DEC Rails to Trails phases 2 and 3, provide energy upgrades, provide Labier Dam removal in North Hudson, Lake Clear DOT, and others as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:- OSHA 30 certification.
- Prior construction management experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with the Uniform Building Code requirements for nonresidential occupancies.
- Ability to interpret contract documents for inspection and compliance verification.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Able to work autonomously.
PAY RATE: $18.36-$30.90/Hourly Salary. Actual compensation will be dependent on the individual’s qualifications, education, skills, and experience.
JOB LOCATION: On-Site at the Saranac Lake Field Office (and some potential travel).
