Stationary Engineer operates, repairs, and maintains stationary equipment including boilers, generators, refrigeration, and turbines in buildings, plants or industrial facilities. Ensures that equipment is operating safely and within established limits. Being a Stationary Engineer conducts monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges and controls to determine the need for repair or replacement of parts. Performs preventative maintenance and documents completed procedures. Additionally, Stationary Engineer requires a high school diploma. Requires applicable Stationary Engineer's license for the state. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Stationary Engineer works under moderate supervision. Tuscarawas County Engineer has an opening for Highway Maintenance Worker II. Applicant must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A.
Examples of skills and/or experience relevant to this position include:
- Operation of tandem truck to transport stone, dirt, salt, asphalt, etc.
- Operation of construction equipment such as loader/backhoe, excavator, grader, dozer, forklift, broom, patching machine, etc.
- Operation of snow and ice control equipment
- Construction of bridges, guardrail and other roadway items
- Concrete construction and maintenance
Applicant is expected to have a satisfactory record of attendance, safety, and work performance.
Successful applicant will be subject to initial and random drug screens. Successful applicants will be expected to be available for overtime, particularly during or after weather events.
