OverviewWe are seeking a Desktop Engineer to join our team! In this role you will build, test, deploy, and support the corporate desktop image and desktop management solution using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM). This includes packaging, patching, testing, and deploying both system and application updates to the end-user environment; creation of new desktop deployment strategies; execution of inventory management processes of end-user hardware and software assets; comprehensive administration of the desktop environment; testing and evaluation of new hardware models; improvement of the desktop lifecycle; and provision of support for L2 issue escalations/tickets.

Shift: Days, M-F, On-call rotation, every 5 weeks
Hybrid - Remote, with the need to come on site for projects

ResponsibilitiesOperating System Responsibilities:
- Improves operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
- Packages software with required information from vendors; recommending purchases; testing and approving products.
- Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
- Develop solutions for complex software / hardware and image problems in a Windows 7 & 10 environment
- Review Local Desktop GPO’s and Login Scripts to optimize the user’s Desktop experience
- Assist with reviewing and optimizing Windows 10 Gold image
- Windows deployment via Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
- Office 365 Client setup and Add-in Support
- Perform planning, design and implementation of workstation hardware, software, and application upgrades and rollouts through Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
- Provide strategy for emerging technology, software, and hardware road maps to improve customer efficiency and productivity
Security Responsibilities
- Security, Cyber Threats, Malware, Hardware Patching/Updates, Software Patching/Updates
- Mobile Device Security and Control with Intune, JamF and Cisco AnyConnect
- Maintain desktop standards, knowledge base, operating procedures, guidelines and system documentation
- Create, maintain and administer standard image, deployment, management, and monitoring capability
- Work closely with Network and Systems Engineers to gain knowledge of network topology, profiles and tasks within a Windows based back end environment
QualificationsEducation:
- Bachelor of Science Degree or 6 years of related technology experience
- Preferred:
- Microsoft modern desktop Cert
- Mac iOS and Mac OS
- Security / TCP/IP/ DNS/ DHCP/ WSUS/ JAMF/ Intune/ Corporate VPN experience is a plus
Experience:
- Experience leading and delivering Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and other related tool solutions for patch deployments, tracking, reporting and remediation. Strong working knowledge of application packaging and deployment using programs and advertisements
- Experience deploying, administering, and maintaining disk encryption technologies, preferably BitLocker
- Proficient with application packaging and distribution using tools such as AdminStudio and Flexera
- Proficient with application virtualization and delivery using VMWare and similar VDI technologies
- 3 years of MECM experience, as well as prior experience in an MECM Administrator or Desktop Engineer role.
- 3 years of experience with Active Directory and GPO management
- 6 years of experience with end user computing support in a Windows environment.
- Must have a solid background with desktop image development and workstation deployment.
- Solid Windows OS/Office Suite knowledge and expertise, including Windows experience and Office 365.
- Systems / Windows OS/ Mac OSX/ Mac iOS support for a large application portfolio in an enterprise environment required.
- Comprehensive desktop support and mobile device background is required.
- Preffered:
- Managing Large Operating System Upgrade projects.
- Knowledge of computer client and server hardware, (Dell\HP\\Lenovo) preferred.
- Security / TCP/IP/ DNS/ DHCP/ WSUS/ JAMF/ Intune/ corporate VPN experience is a plus.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Knowlege/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong scripting and development knowledge – PowerShell, VBScript, Batch
- Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting Ethernet and IP configuration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft support tools, such as MECM, DNS, storage, and networking.
