Stationary Engineer operates, repairs, and maintains stationary equipment including boilers, generators, refrigeration, and turbines in buildings, plants or industrial facilities. Ensures that equipment is operating safely and within established limits. Being a Stationary Engineer conducts monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges and controls to determine the need for repair or replacement of parts. Performs preventative maintenance and documents completed procedures. Additionally, Stationary Engineer requires a high school diploma. Requires applicable Stationary Engineer's license for the state. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Stationary Engineer works under moderate supervision. CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions; wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employee may be assigned to work 6-2, 2-10, and 10-6 shifts, seven days a week including holidays. Subject to remain on duty beyond assigned working hours to provide assistance during extenuating circumstances.
