Stationary Engineer, Sr. operates, repairs, and maintains stationary equipment including boilers, generators, refrigeration, and turbines in buildings, plants or industrial facilities. Ensures that equipment is operating safely and within established limits. Being a Stationary Engineer, Sr. conducts monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges and controls to determine the need for repair or replacement of parts. Performs preventative maintenance and documents completed procedures. Additionally, Stationary Engineer, Sr. requires a high school diploma. Requires applicable Stationary Engineer's license for the state. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Stationary Engineer, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.   • Job Summary:

    Accountable for improving business competitive advantage by leveraging best manufacturing practices / appropriate technology in machining. Commands a deep working knowledge of specific manufacturing processes – considered an expert in the field.  Keeps abreast of latest manufacturing technologies in industry. Mentors others in field of expertise – works with little to no technical oversight.

     

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Supports and guides company technical strategic roadmap and development in areas of expertise.
    • Development and programming of equipment automation such as PLCs, data acquisition software, or similar manufacturing equipment control and/or automation systems. May create CNC Code and tool path simulation if supporting machining operations.
    • Supports new business proposals / create & validate cost estimates / process risk analysis
    • Leads new process evaluation, development and implementation.
    • Primary contact for design engineering or program management on manufacturing processes.
    • Review/Approve methods of manufacturing (MOM), Bills of Materials (BOM) and labor standards in ERP system.
    • Leads activities related to C.I., RCCA, PFMEA, and cost reductions / process improvements.
    • Review, approval and implementation of product design and technical documentation changes related to manufacturing.
    • Design, construction, and validation of tooling, fixtures, gages, and equipment.
    • Work with product engineers and/or program managers to effectively launch product from design to production.
    • Work flow / cell design with a focus on waste reduction and process improvement.
    • Works directly with customers and suppliers to address manufacturing issues and implement solutions.
    • Assist as required to maintain compliance to industry standards (AS-9100, NADCAP).
    • Act as primary point of contact for specialized manufacturing processes (NADCAP).
    • Analysis of manufacturing variances to help identify key areas in need of improvement.

     

    Additional Duties:

    • Support supply chain and quality with supplier development activities as needed.
    • Support resolution of supplier quality issues as required.
    • Mentor / guide level II and I process engineers.
    • Support customer complaints & concerns.
    • Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide.
    • Other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned.
    • Must remain current with, and complete all required training as assigned.
    • Must adhere to Company Corporate EHS Policy and department, occupation, and task specific safety protocols, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

     

    Qualifications:

    • 5 years in a Machining environment
    • Proficient using Master Cam to create “G” code
    • Proficient with Auto Desk Inventor 3D modeling
    • Ability to read and interpret Blueprints
    • Proficient in the understanding of dimensioning and tolerancing including GD&T
    • Fixture and work holding design
    • Cutting tool selection
    • Experience with Multitask or Mill turn Machines  (Mazak Integrex, Doosan)
    • Experience with Standard Mills and Lathes
    • Must submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment with the Company.
    • Must take medical exams required by law, in conjunction with occupation specific activities, the physical work environment, and ongoing industrial hygiene sampling results.
    • Depending on assignment, may be required to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for prolonged timeframes, intermittently reposition the body per various tasks performed, and use various tools and work-related supplies.
    • May be required to perform manual lifting activities, not to exceed a 40lb lift performed by one individual.

     

    Education:

    • Four year degree in engineering preferred but not required (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or manufacturing preferred).
