Associate Engineer:
This position is designed to be an engineering rotational program lasting 24-48 months, giving an entry-level engineer experience and exposure to several areas of terminals and pipelines operations. The successful candidate will start working out of CITGO’s Corporate Office located in Houston, Texas and will be responsible for becoming familiar with CITGO policies and procedures, including those associated with engineering, operations, procurement, and capital project processes. Job functions will require a person to oversee and assist with a wide scope of engineering assignments across a variety of refined product business unit operations. Job functions will include analyzing the scope of an assignment, determining engineering requirements, traveling for field visits to take measurements and understand site constraints, developing estimates and material lists, assisting with contracting and procurement processes, and providing project management through construction, as well as project cost oversight. Additional work will support the Aboveground Storage Tank Inspection and Integrity Management programs through obtainment of industry-recognized API 653 Inspector and NACE Coating Inspector Level 1 certifications. The goal once the initial corporate training period is complete is to be placed into an open technical or operations position with a high project work load at a mutually accepted CITGO Terminals and Pipelines field location. The first rotational assignment outside the corporate office could be given at any time after 6 months of initial training. Future assignments would not last less than 1 year. Once the program is complete, the fully trained engineer may decide to stay at the last location or apply for any other open positions within CITGO. Project Engineer:
Responsible for developing solutions to engineering problems that require the use of ingenuity and creativity. Analyzes scope of the project and determines engineering requirements, develops economic and feasibility studies and performs engineering designs in accordance with applicable specifications and procedures. Supports as required the Above Ground Storage Tank Inspection Program (ASTIP) and the Integrity Management (IM) program. Provides technical assistance to operational personnel. Participates in and helps direct and coordinate team or task force effort toward the solution of project development and design problems.
Senior Project Engineer:
Responsible for developing solutions to complex engineering problems which requires use of ingenuity and creativity. Analyzes scope of project and determines engineering requirements, establishes criteria, develops economic and feasibility studies and evaluates engineering designs and procedures. Maintains the Aboveground Storage Tank Inspection Program (ASTIP) for the assigned area and supports the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA) programs. Provides counsel and assistance in technical matters to engineers, Integrity Management personnel, technicians and supervisory personnel. Directs and coordinates team or task force effort toward the solution of major project development and design problems. May supervise the activities of professional and nonprofessional personnel. Supplies technical direction and guidance to less experienced engineers.
