Stock Clerk - Grocery Store is responsible for adequately stocking grocery store shelves. May also be responsible for new product displays. Being a Stock Clerk - Grocery Store prices new items and ensures that price changes are carried out appropriately. Assists customers in finding requested grocery items or with questions regarding pricing. Additionally, Stock Clerk - Grocery Store handles all grocery products in a safe, sanitary manner. Maintains cleanliness and neatness. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Stock Clerk - Grocery Store may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Purpose of this Job:
Stocking shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with merchandise in display arrangements to attract customers. May take physical counts of merchandise or check, mark and attach price tickets as directed. Ensures clean and organized displays of merchandise in store.

Educational Requirements:
Minimum of a high school education or General Equivalency Diploma, preferred
Experience Requirements:
Previous experience working in a grocery or retail department preferred.
Reasoning Ability:
Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages.
Ability to identify discrepancies or potential problems.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and directions.
Ability to understand written and verbal directions.
Ability to talk to others (internal customers/coworkers and external customers) to convey information effectively and professionally.
Typical Physical and Mental demands of the Job:
Concentration, attentiveness, independent judgment and discretion, manage multiple tasks, read and comprehend instructions and work orders. Must have great attention to details. Must be able to see, hear, bend, stoop and reach, and stand for long periods of time, use hands, lift up to 50 pounds manually.
Work Environment:
Interaction with the public and customers. Standing for entire shift, minus breaks and meal periods. Exposed to changes in temperature while working in the freezer and coolers. Has the potential to be exposed to various degrees in temperature while working in various areas of the market, including dock, stockroom, coolers, freezers, deli and front area of the store.
