  • Position Summary: Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Admissions Recruitment, this position is responsible for supporting the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of the entering transfer class. In addition, this position coordinates the evaluation of academic transcripts and other credentials, articulates and awards credit, if appropriate, reviews and makes decisions on domicile applications, and acts on applications for transfer and re-admission to Adams State University. This position supports the transfer recruitment activities, builds strong relationships with community college partners, and develops on- and off-campus recruitment events and programming to support the recruitment of these students. Finally, this position will assist with various other aspects of the Office of Admissions including, but not limited to, admissions presentations, requests to take courses elsewhere, credential review, general information sessions, campus tours, admission interviews, and supervision of various student staff. Specific Job Duties (Essential Functions and Responsibilities): 1. Routinely communicates and meets with new transfer applicants and returning student applicants regarding admission requirements and eligibility. 2. Serve as the primary recruiter and visit community colleges for tabling, presentations, meetings, and transfer fairs. Coordinates the scheduling of these efforts each semester. 3. Conduct persuasive information sessions and other presentations to prospective students and their families about Adams State University. 4. Assumes responsibility as the Designated School Official for undergraduate International student recruitment, admission, matriculation, and retention. 5. Utilizes the National Student Clearinghouse to identify unreported periods and/or institutions at which the student has been previously enrolled and makes appropriate adjustments to the student’s application. 6. As part of the Admissions team, this individual will also take measures to ensure that the University is compliant with the State Policy on Transfer and operates adhering to all current guaranteed admission or articulation agreements. 7. Serves as a member of the internal quality assurance team to help ensure data and record integrity associated with these enrollment credentials. 8. Interviews prospective applicants for transfer admission and assists with reading applications for admission. 9. Requires frequent travel within the state, some resulting in overnight stays, as well as some evening and weekend work commitments. 10. Assists with planning and implementation of programs for prospective students, family, and community college counselors to generate interest in Adams State University. This includes both on- and off-campus events. 11. Assists with the review of requests of current students to enroll in courses elsewhere and provides guidance to students on options for degree completion. 12. Utilizes online degree analysis tools to make determinations regarding eligibility to enroll in and receive credit for coursework completed at another higher education institution. 13. Maintains and continually reviews inventory of Adams State University transfer equivalent courses in the electronic database. 14. Articulates credits earned elsewhere and posts to the student’s academic record. 15. Assists with running reports to identify potential duplicate credit, reconciles these instances, and notifies students accordingly. 16. Assists with designing the schedules and registering new transfer students based on information gathered via the student, the student’s academic record and information provided by academic department chairs. 17. Consult with the Director of Student Success and faculty stakeholders regarding situations with conflicting information or when there is insufficient course availability for new transfer classes. 18. Develops and maintains positive and professional customer service and/or relations within the office/department and with all constituencies to include students, faculty, staff, guests, and employees. 19. Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude and treats everyone with dignity and respect. Fully supports the “Student’s First” value at Adams State University and routinely goes the extra mile in providing service. 20. Participates in a cross-training initiative so all staff members possess a general knowledge base of University and office functions to better guide and refer customers routinely goes the extra mile in providing service. 21. Follow workplace safety regulations and adhere to applicable standards, processes, and programs established for your position. a. Report unsafe work conditions to your supervisor. b. Immediately report work-related incidents to your supervisor and participate in accident investigation requests. 22. Assists with coverage in the Student Union Building and with receiving incoming phone calls and emails for general Admissions contacts. 23. Serves as representative of the office, providing guidance regarding operational issues, on various division and university groups and committees. 24. Recommends and assists in the development of policies and procedures pertaining to enrollment of international students, transfer admission, State Policy on Transfer, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and transfer equivalency tables. 25. Assists and collaborates with the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and the University Registrar to develop degree maps, Bridge to Bachelor’s programs, and Interstate Passport programs. 26. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications: ● Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and one or more years of relevant technical or administrative experience in an educational setting ● Strong customer service skills including the ability to respond efficiently and effectively to customer requests and to use sensitivity and discretion when assisting customers ● Strong self-motivation, time management, communication and interpersonal skills ● Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure ● Ability to interact effectively with faculty, students, administrators, and staff ● Ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external constituencies ● Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines ● Sound judgment and discretion when working with confidential information ● Valid driver’s license and clean driving record as travel is required Preferred qualifications: ● Broad base of general technical knowledge and a high level of competency in various computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet software, and database software ● Familiarity with at least one student information system (Ellucian Banner, Workday Student, Peoplesoft) ● Familiarity with at least one Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (e.g. Radius, Recruiter, TargetX, Slate, Salesforce) ● Bilingual, English/Spanish ● Master’s degree and three or more years of relevant educational experience Salary and Benefits: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience; medical/dental and retirement benefits, the salary range for this position is $38,880.00-$43,695.72 How to Apply: Application must be made through the Adams State University Careers page https://adams.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/ASU.
