Strategic Planning Director directs and oversees an organization's strategic and long-range goal planning function. Drives strategic initiatives and supports the development of long-term growth plans and profitability goals. Being a Strategic Planning Director analyzes emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, competitive threats, the viability of outside business partners, and sources of capital. Establishes and retains relationships with industry analysts and the investment community. Additionally, Strategic Planning Director utilizes data-driven methodologies to analyze business performance metrics and process improvement options effectively. Develops reporting and tools to communicate strategic plans and concepts to leadership. Conducts periodic status reviews of organizational goals and objectives to identify roadblocks to progress. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Strategic Planning Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Strategic Planning Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Director, Strategic Sourcing

  • As a Strategic Sourcing Director, you will work on a variety of overall strategic initiative by taking a leadership role over enterprise spend. Activities include, but are not limited to, determining spend regarding commodities and categories with a high level of business, technical, and supply complexity. This position be responsible for coordinating cross-functionally as well as building and developing inter-departmental teams.

    This person would be hybrid with monthly travel to our corporate office in Lafayette, IN. Ideally we would like this person to be located or willing to relocate (Indiana, Illinois, Michigan).

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Attracts, equips, develops, and leads a team of ethical sourcing professionals
    • Develops and manages key supplier relationships to reduce overall total costs, enhance product performance and continuously improve supplier performance
    • Collaborates across the business unit leadership and operations teams to achieve cost, performance, and quality targets
    • Maintains a systematic, analytical, and results-based method for monitoring supplier's performance
    • Identifies, selects, and proactively develops suppliers who provide superior value in quality products that provide the best value to Wabash and our customers
    • Leads negotiation efforts and documentation of commercial arrangements with key suppliers via longterm supply agreements and price agreements
    • Drives a competitive advantage for Wabash by aggregating and leveraging spend across business units
    • Conducts complex market and internal data analysis to identify new opportunities and increase spend under supply agreement and purchase orders
    • Supports new product development efforts by finding and developing technology, suppliers and processes that provide an advantage to the business
    • Sets vision and implement value-adding long term commodity strategies
    • Understands current and future market trends that drive material cost changes and communicate across organization for appropriate actions to mitigate risks
    • Develops commodity hedging plans and implement other risk management strategies
    • Increases usage of vendor managed inventory and consignment programs

    • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred Major: Business or Engineering)
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain or procurement within a manufacturing environment
    • Proficiency in leading cross functional teams to implement supplier change and/or cost savings initiatives across a large, complex supply base and geographically diverse manufacturing locations
    • Familiarity with reading blueprints and understanding basic engineering documents
    • Capability in leading cross functional teams to implement supplier change and/or cost savings initiatives across a large, complex supply base and geographically diverse manufacturing locations
    • Ability to adapt quickly to internally and externally dynamic environment
    • Knowledge of commodities, materials, categories, and products being purchased
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate both verbally and in written form
    • Experience with being high analytical to solve complex problems
    • Master's Degree preferred
