SUMMARY
The Deputy Director of Financial Planning and Analysis gathers, reviews, analyzes, and interprets business and financial data to supplement the creation of the County Budget and related financial plans or analysis. This position plays a primary role in improving business efficiencies, determining value benefits, and helping create the County Budget and monitor the same. The individual in this position will work with County Departments to support the budget creation and forecast processes and ensure that proposed County projects and departmental business plans are financially aligned with enterprise goals.
The ideal candidate will possess considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting including cost and fund accounting. The candidate will be well versed in financial techniques used in the collection, review, and presentation of data, governmental budgetary processes, and applicable guidelines. Effective, professional communication skills (both written and verbal) are key to this position.
This position is considered an Essential Employee, as defined in the Human Resources policy manual.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration, economics, or statistics with three years of technical work in governmental budget preparation, monitoring, and/or reviewing. Or any equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
