Strategic Planning Director directs and oversees an organization's strategic and long-range goal planning function. Drives strategic initiatives and supports the development of long-term growth plans and profitability goals. Being a Strategic Planning Director analyzes emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, competitive threats, the viability of outside business partners, and sources of capital. Establishes and retains relationships with industry analysts and the investment community. Additionally, Strategic Planning Director utilizes data-driven methodologies to analyze business performance metrics and process improvement options effectively. Develops reporting and tools to communicate strategic plans and concepts to leadership. Conducts periodic status reviews of organizational goals and objectives to identify roadblocks to progress. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Strategic Planning Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Strategic Planning Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     • Provide direct leadership for tactical business solutions related to single view of the customer strategy.
    • Responsible for specific projects/programs that require coordination with other corporate divisions and operating companies.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline.
    • Five (5) years business experience in an engineering discipline, operations research, program development or industrial management field with strong project management skills.
    • Knowledge of financial planning functions.
    • Strong basic management, analytical, human relations and communication skills.
    • Directly related advanced degrees may offset experience requirements.
    • Directly related experience may offset degree requirements.

    Special Requirements:
    Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years’ business experience in an engineering discipline, operations research, program development or industrial management field with strong management skills. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years business experience in an engineering discipline, operations research, program development or industrial management field with strong management skills in lieu of a Master's degree plus 3 years of experience. Must have experience with the following: Project Management/Product Management; Enterprise Software Implementation – ERP; Data Analytics - SQL, Power BI; Application Development; Customer Relationship Management – Salesforce. Knowledge of financial planning functions. Strong basic management, analytical, human relations and communication skills. A related advanced degree may offset related experience requirements. Position allows for telecommuting from home within commuting distance of Collierville, TN. Supervise 8 employees.

    *Employer will accept one (1) year of directly related experience in lieu of one
    (1) year of education.*
