Strategic Planning Director directs and oversees an organization's strategic and long-range goal planning function. Drives strategic initiatives and supports the development of long-term growth plans and profitability goals. Being a Strategic Planning Director analyzes emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, competitive threats, the viability of outside business partners, and sources of capital. Establishes and retains relationships with industry analysts and the investment community. Additionally, Strategic Planning Director utilizes data-driven methodologies to analyze business performance metrics and process improvement options effectively. Develops reporting and tools to communicate strategic plans and concepts to leadership. Conducts periodic status reviews of organizational goals and objectives to identify roadblocks to progress. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Strategic Planning Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Summary
Planning Managers help oversee and perform key Planning and Scheduling activities for a Trident location and may facilitate Planning and Scheduling activities for multiple locations. This typically involves supporting multiple programs, and the role also leads training, onboarding, and quality checks to promote best practices. The Planning Manager will fulfill the role of planner and/or scheduler for certain projects depending on size, scope and complexity.
The Planning Manager must exemplify excellent organization, resource, and time management. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving and analytical abilities, and leadership initiative will all be needed to succeed in this role. Planning Managers and their team members form an integral part of the Project Management Organization (PMO) supporting Trident’s customer base.
