Strategic Planning Director directs and oversees an organization's strategic and long-range goal planning function. Drives strategic initiatives and supports the development of long-term growth plans and profitability goals. Being a Strategic Planning Director analyzes emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, competitive threats, the viability of outside business partners, and sources of capital. Establishes and retains relationships with industry analysts and the investment community. Additionally, Strategic Planning Director utilizes data-driven methodologies to analyze business performance metrics and process improvement options effectively. Develops reporting and tools to communicate strategic plans and concepts to leadership. Conducts periodic status reviews of organizational goals and objectives to identify roadblocks to progress. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Strategic Planning Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Strategic Planning Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Key job responsibilities

    Requirement Gathering and Analysis:
    • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, to understand and document their requirements, challenges, and desired outcomes.
    o Conduct in-depth analysis of existing processes, systems, and data flows to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for optimization.
    o Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications that can be understood by engineers, analysts, and data scientists.

    Data Analysis and Insights:
    o Work closely with engineers, analysts, and data scientists to understand the available sources, quality, and analytical capabilities.
    o Leverage data analysis techniques to identify insights that can inform business decisions and drive strategic initiatives.

    Solution Design and Implementation:
    o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that address business requirements and drive value.
    o Ensure that the proposed solutions align with best practices, organizational standards, and regulatory requirements.
    o Facilitate communication and knowledge transfer between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring understanding of the solution's capabilities and limitations.

    Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement:
    o Participate and lead project planning to ensure successful delivery of data-driven initiatives.
    o Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project status, and risks effectively.
    o Foster relationships with business stakeholders, technical teams, and cross-functional partners to promote collaboration and alignment.
