The State of New Hampshire, Department of Military Affairs and Veterans Services has a full-time vacancy for Planning Specialist.
Summary: Provides technical assistance in the planning, preparation, and development of long- and short-range plans for the Department of Military Affairs and Veterans Services (DMAVS) use of its State facilities and properties, in accordance with local, State, and Federal laws & regulations in support the mission of the New Hampshire National Guard (NHNG).

18 Months of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree

Responsibilities:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major study in planning, community development, environmental science, economics, architecture, environmental design, engineering, construction science, geography, business administration, public administration, or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Four years' professional or paraprofessional experience in urban planning, municipal planning, community and economic development, environmental design, economics, architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field, with responsibility for program implementation, direct service delivery, planning or program evaluation. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
License/Certification: Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to satisfactorily undergo a State Police Criminal Records check. Must pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) used in the performance of assigned work duties and be eligible for renewal as a condition of employment.
Preferred QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding of planning, programming, real property, GIS, and master planning concepts and procedures; knowledge of architectural design and building construction to include site evaluation, building design, construction documents and building construction methods and details. A working knowledge of various architectural and engineering disciplines sufficient to apply a broad range of engineering techniques to plan, program and estimate individual projects.
