Strategic Planning Manager manages the analytical and research activities supporting an organization's strategic, short-term, and long-range goal planning function. Oversees data collection and conducts organizational reviews to identify the business's strengths and weaknesses and evaluate operational effectiveness. Being a Strategic Planning Manager leads the research of emerging trends, expansion opportunities, competitive threats, and the viability of outside business partners. Develops recommendations for internal business process improvement. Additionally, Strategic Planning Manager designs and executes methods to track and measure organizational performance data to use for planning. Requires a bachelor's degree.     Position Summary

    Provides leadership to various PG&E communications programs including internal, external, executive, media, and/or online communications. Directs and manages the performance of communications strategies and initiatives with the goal of sustaining and advancing the company's reputable products and services with various internal and external stakeholders. Ensures and reviews that all communications programs, strategies, and support are aligned with the company's mission, vision, business strategy, brand, goals, and objectives.

     

    To obtain and maintain employment, you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check for unescorted access to a nuclear plant, psychological screen, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening in fulfillment of federal requirements.

     

    PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.


    A reasonable salary range is:
    California Minimum: $129,000
    California Maximum: $220,000

     

    Job Responsibilities

    • Manages and approves strategic communication plans and provides recommendations on how to best address and align unified company communications to various internal and external key issues, including DOE CBA, and nuclear regulatory actions.
    • Manages DCPP tour program, social media and on plant digital content for training, plans focused on increasing employee and community engagement. 
    • Oversees all PG&E offices, locations, and facility communication strategies to ensure that signage is consistent with marketing and message.
    • Manages all business process improvements and projects through identification, analysis and documentation of activities and risks.
    • Oversees messaging development and relationship building through DCPP and PG&E for LOB goals and objectives at DCPP.
    • Counsels and provides various PG&E’s leadership levels, LOB, and external leaders with resources, tools, and techniques to remain current regarding challenges and opportunities affecting the company and their employees.
    • Manages and approves communications metrics to forecast, evaluate, and realign performance, goals, and objectives.
    • Manages and leads the support for emergency communications.
    • May manage and review the communications, content, usage, and user-friendliness for PG&E’s external website including providing communication expertise and counseling for various offices, facilities, and locations.
    •  Manages, leads, coaches, mentors, and develops a departmental staff. 

     

     

    Qualifications

    Minimum:

    • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
    • Experience in corporate communications, or related, 8 years
    • CA Class C License, or equivalent
    • Ability to travel using personal vehicle
    • Record of Clean Driving

     

    Desired:

    • Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
    • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Communications, English, Journalism, Publlic Policy or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
    • PCM-Professional Certified Marketer certification
    • ABC-Accredited Business Communicator Certification
    • APR-Accredited in Public Relations Certification
    • One (1) year of management experience desired with an ability to manage staff and programs
    • Utility industry experience desired
