Being a Structural Engineer develops blueprints or specifications for use during construction and ensures all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations. Determines cause of structural failures, damages, and defects through site investigations. Additionally, Structural Engineer provides reports detailing investigations and assessment of damages to the structure. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Tuscarawas County Engineer has an opening for Highway Maintenance Worker II. Applicant must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A.
Examples of skills and/or experience relevant to this position include:
- Operation of tandem truck to transport stone, dirt, salt, asphalt, etc.
- Operation of construction equipment such as loader/backhoe, excavator, grader, dozer, forklift, broom, patching machine, etc.
- Operation of snow and ice control equipment
- Construction of bridges, guardrail and other roadway items
- Concrete construction and maintenance
Applicant is expected to have a satisfactory record of attendance, safety, and work performance.
Successful applicant will be subject to initial and random drug screens. Successful applicants will be expected to be available for overtime, particularly during or after weather events.
