Structural Engineer jobs in Galveston, TX

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Structural Engineer, we’ll count on you to assist in managing a team of designers and Engineers-in-Training with engineering calculations, field inspections, reviewing and redlining structural designs, and producing structural designs using AutoCAD. Designs include steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, windstorm and foundation. In this role, you will collaborate with architects and other professionals to develop structural designs for buildings and infrastructure projects.

key responsibilities include:

• Analyzing sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings
• Conduct site visits to assess existing structures and provide recommendations for repairs or modifications
• Perform calculations and designs to ensure structural integrity and compliance with building codes and regulations
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project success
• Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and drafters
• Assisting with other duties and special projects as needed

Education / Qualifications

-B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering

-Professional Engineer (PE) license required

-Masters in Structural Engineering preferred

-Proficient in AutoCAD

-Experience with Civil3D a plus

-Two years of structural design engineering experience required

-Strong professional work ethic

-Commitment to quality and attention to detail
