• Provide engineering test support for structural dynamics and impact tests conducted by SDB. These tests may include model vibration, static, quasi-static, and impact testing of aerospace structures and structural components to include tests of composite structures and/or multi-terrain impact testing using both sub- and full-scale test articles. Testing will be conducted in B1262. B1293, B1297, and at the LandIR (Landing AND Impact Research) and/or HIB (Hydro Impact Basin) Facilities.
• Provide engineering test support for materials testing for quasi-static loading conditions as well as varying strain rates.
• Provide expert support in application of 2-D and 3-D photogrammetric testing techniques to generate full-field strain data, as well as motion tracking of targeted test articles. Test support will include preparations for test entry including performing equipment calibration and upgrades, coordination of test article and fixture design and fabrication and required modifications to facilities, participation in conducting the tests, collecting structural response data, reducing test data and presentation of results in the form of presentations and reports.
• Provide Loads and Dynamics Analyses for the Structural Dynamics Branch. Conduct theoretical analyses of spacecraft to determine their behavior during pyrotechnic shock events and landing impacts. Must be familiar with the following finite element solvers and pre- and post-processors:
  LS-DYNA
  LS-PREPOST
  MSC/NASTRAN
  HYPERMESH
  MSC/PATRAN
  ABAQUS
• The position will perform structural design calculations using many tools including LS-DYNA,ABAQUS, NASTRAN, and I-DEAS. Will perform design calculations for spacecraft structures and shock analyses of foundations and other components

• Bachelors in Engineering, Masters preferred
• U.S Citizenship
