STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Ensure the safety and physical integrity of buildings and other large structures related to projects within the BioMass industry.
Utilize project and budget management skills combined with superior knowledge of construction processes, materials and legal
regulations to engineer and manage projects for CLIENT customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather information to prepare and present reports, designs, and drawings on project topics.
- Consider performance, safety, goals and regulatory requirements when designing structures and sites.
- Researches and analyzes maps, blueprints, photos, charts, and other data to plan projects.
- Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately.
- Assist in conceptual development, provide technical advice on safe designs and construction.
- Compile estimate data for projects in the Structural and Civil Engineering scope of work.
- Perform engineering duties such as plan, design, and oversee the construction and maintenance of buildings, site
layout, traffic control and other structures.
- Manages and directs structural designers and their workload.
- Obtain planning and/or building regulations approval.
- Review projects regularly to ensure successful completion on time and on budget.
- Creation of the structural and civil specifications.
- Must be available to travel and work more than standard hours when necessary.
- Participate and attend staff training programs and other team meetings.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate a project through detailed communications with engineers, contractors, and site supervisory
personnel.
- Monitor and inspect all work undertaken by contractors to ensure structural soundness.
- Administer subcontracts and manage projects.
- Inspect job sites to evaluate the conditions and existing structures.
- Assist in conceptual development in civil and structural areas of projects.
- Estimating, permitting, scheduling, and budgeting projects.
