Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) is looking for a highly motivated individual to serve as a Director of Business Development for our Energy Services (ESG) business unit.
SI’s Energy Services Group provides engineering consulting services, inspection services, metallurgical failure analysis, and online monitoring and diagnostic services to the power generation and petrochemical industries. The Director of Business Development role provides leadership and direction for growth by developing strategies for new business areas, product/service offerings, and client acquisition, retention, and expansion. Working with our team of consultants/subject matter experts, establish and maintaining a growth plan, coordinate and execute growth programs, optimize the revenue funnel, and ensure client success.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide strategic direction to the business for new opportunities, market changes/evolution, or other factors that may affect existing products and services or which might offer opportunities for new products and services
Develop, maintain, and execute a strategic plan for growth and business development
Develop long-range plans and provide intelligence on the current available market and its future trend
Direct a plan and actions to develop new and maintain key client relationships
Work with the marketing and communications team to ensure the business is appropriately represented in general marketing materials (website, brochures, social media, etc.) and through conferences, workshops, advertising, etc.
Chair business development review meetings to promote the exchange of market/client intelligence and follow up on opportunities
Direct the development of large proposals in response to programmatic or fleet opportunities and assist with contract negotiations for such opportunities
Profitability – Balanced portfolio that maximizes profit through the use of strategic pricing, value-based sales, and client management
Growth – Work with the Executive Director and business unit leaders to identify necessary development and innovation to maximize the growth profile
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in technical field and 10 years of experience
Advanced Business Management degree or equivalent experience desired.
Knowledge of equipment used in power generation and petrochemical plants
Expertise in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering is a plus
Self-starter team player with a positive attitude and energetic
Excellent written and verbal communication skills that scale from technical to executive levels
Possess credibility in front of our clients (know the business challenges faced by our clients)
Ability to develop valued relationships with senior level (management) staff at our clients
Lead by example, exhibiting attributes and abilities as a model to others
Demonstrated success in either sustaining or growing a business/product line/service offering
Experience with developing and maintaining marketing information and strategic use of the latest communication technologies
Contacts in the power generation industry.
