PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
At Aecon-Wachs we are always looking for exceptional talent to join our team and work on our growing project portfolios. We are actively recruiting for Boilermakers to support our various project sites across the US.
Ironworkers install and reinforce structural/ornamental steel components in commercial, industrial, institutional and large residential buildings, towers, bridges and stadiums. They erect pre-engineered buildings, cranes, hoists, conveyors, handrails, machinery and material handling systems. Ironworkers also install rebar and have knowledge of welding and fabrication.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment
• Follows all safety and quality program expectations
• Loads and unloads equipment and materials
• Uses hand and power tools and heavy machinery
• Reads and follows construction field work packages
• Adheres to all applicable company and client policies and procedure
• Adheres to all applicable laws regulations and guidelines
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• High school diploma or equivalent experience is required
• At minimum 3 years of experience in a related work
• Follows written and verbal instructions
• Works well at heights and in confined spaces
• Collaborates with coworkers and has strong interpersonal skills
• Learns quickly and has strong math, problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Must be comfortable working in Radiological Work Areas (Nuclear work only)
• Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending and lifting at least 50 pounds
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be able to be hold and maintain a Security Clearance at US Nuclear facility(Nuclear work only)
• Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
