Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced, dedicated professional to join our team as an Industrial Ironworker - Traveler. This position will be for various projects in locations to be discussed with the Manpower Coordinator following your application. This is an hourly, non-exempt position that will report to the General Foreman of the assigned project. We will provide lodging and per diem, as well as pay you for traveling to and from each project you are assigned. We are looking for applicants who have at least 5 years of Ironworker experience. This position will support the projects at various locations throughout the Western United States. These projects vary in length and require the commitment of working the designated schedule until the project you are assigned is complete. We provide paid training for all certifications required to work on the site you are assigned.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
- This position requires a commitment to safety as our number one priority, and a strong dedication to producing quality work
- Identify and properly use, inspect and maintain personal protective equipment, including but not limited to: boots, glasses, hardhat, gloves, face shield, goggles, leathers, earplugs
- Be able and willing to work a variety of schedules, including day or night shifts
- Comply with all policies and procedures in Employee Handbook
- Ability to safely lift 75-100 lbs frequently, using proper lifting techniques
- Understand and perform lock out/tag out procedures
- Identify and use basic rigging/lifting devices (cables, chains, come along, shackles, slings, straps, electric winches)
- Identify and use basic tools (hand tools: shovel, rake, pick, mill bars, wrenches, sockets, hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, measuring tape) (electric tools: impacts, drills, grinders, chop saw, band saw, winches, air compressor, generators)
- Must be skilled in use of cutting/welding equipment (torch, welder)
- Unload, erect, and connect fabricated iron beams to form the project skeleton
- Ability to operate forklift, come along, air impacts, air hoist, tugger, hydraulic rams, porta powers, pressure washer
- Beginning ability to analyze job and tools required
- Ability to drive truck/trailer combinations
- Identify the tools and equipment needed for the task at hand
- Erect buildings from the ground up
- Basic blue print reading and knowledge
- Other job duties as assigned by management
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is required upon hire and as a condition of continued employment
- At least 5 years’ experience in industrial construction or commercial construction
- At least 5 years’ experience as an ironworker
- Knowledge of methods and materials common to the construction trade
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with all personnel
- Possess good communication skills, i.e., written, verbal and listening
Criteria/Conditions
- Work is performed in various industrial settings, including; Shop environment, mining environment, construction environment, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particle
- While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) during the course of the workda
- Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.

- Be willing and able to work a variety of schedules, on-call, including dayshift, nightshift, weekend and holidays, and also be willing to travel and work out of town when necessary
Additional Job Information:
- Starting at $32 / hr, based on experience and qualifications
- $65 per diem with lodging, $120 per diem without lodging provided
- MOB In and MOB Out provided for each travel assignment
