Student Activities Director directs and oversees the development and organization of the university/college's extra-curricular programs including special events. Sets up social events and has a participatory role in the Greek system, the student government, and student run clubs. Being a Student Activities Director approves funding for various student activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Student Activities Director typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Student Activities Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Purpose:
The Activities Director aides in the day-to-day functioning of the DAHS Program. Ensures Daily Attendance Logs, Monthly Progress Notes and any and all other paperwork is filled out accurately and consistently. Verifying eligibility with Intake Coordinator. Enters consumer’s coverage on the system. Assists in developing curriculum with Director and coordinating outings with DAHS Staff and /or other day programs
Qualifications:
● High School Diploma or GED (required)
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, and one (1) year of full-time experience working with people with disabilities in a human service or medically related program (required) or:
● Sixty (60) semester hours from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of full-time experience working with people with disabilities in a human service or medically related program (required)
● One (1) year experience in the Mental Health
● High organizational skills
● Excellent communication skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Plans and directs the daily program of activities, including physical fitness exercises or other recreational activities
● Records individuals social history
● Assists with individuals related support needs
● Assures that the identified related support services are included in the individuals plan of care
● Signs and Dates monthly progress notes about social and related support services activities provided
● Answer phone calls and respond to emails with information for La Familia del Paso services
● Print out Welcome Packets for new incoming consumers
● Ensuring new consumers have all paperwork filled out properly and promptly
● File completed Welcome Packets for new consumers
● Ensure paperwork is updated on annual basis or as needed
● Coordinate with Intake Coordinator and Billing Supervisor to ensure new consumers are in the system and are billable
● Request and complete a Release of Information Form if needed
● Enter Consumer information into Elder Suites
● Update information on Elder Suites as needed
● Follow up with probable consumers
● Contact Intake Coordinator to update consumer information in EHR System when needed
● Contact Intake Coordinator to update any financial, demographic, and insurance information into EHR
● Coordinate with Rehab Workers to ensure when they will see consumers
● Coordinate with Kitchen Supervisor to ensure there is enough food and cleaning supplies
● Ensure Dietician sends monthly menu and follow up if it is not sent within the first week of the month
● Complete monthly activity calendar
● Ensure there are enough supplies to perform duties properly
● Coordinate with Facility Nurse to make sure all consumers’ files are up to date
● Coordinate with Director of Nursing to make sure all consumers information is updated for their records
