Student Activities Director directs and oversees the development and organization of the university/college's extra-curricular programs including special events. Sets up social events and has a participatory role in the Greek system, the student government, and student run clubs. Being a Student Activities Director approves funding for various student activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Student Activities Director typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Student Activities Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Student Activities Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Activities Director is responsible for the development and implementation of a stimulating activity program encompassing physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual activities. Programs will address needs of all elderly from active to those in declining physical abilities. The Activities Director must present self in a professional manner, display genuine concern for elderly and act maturely in dealing with others. The programming must also include a wide variety of ages and meet the needs of our diverse population.

    Part-time position-16 hours a week

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrates an interest in working with a senior population
    • Demonstrates a warm, friendly and outgoing personality.
    • Willing to work flexible hours, such as during evenings and weekends, for planned activities and events.
    • Maintains a current driver’s license in Kentucky and has a clean driving record.
    • Acts as liaison to related committees as needed.
    • Prefer one year of activity programming experience with agencies responsible for seniors.
    • Must be able use Microsoft products to include: Word, and Outlook.
