Duties:
- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities to meet the needs and interests of our residents
- Coordinate and lead group activities such as games, crafts, music, and exercise classes
- Organize outings and special events to provide socialization opportunities for residents
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive environment
- Assess individual resident needs and preferences to tailor activities accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation and resident progress
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of aging issues, senior care, and nursing home environments
- Experience in recreational therapy or a related field is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and execute events and activities
- Empathy and understanding in working with individuals with memory care needs
- Proficient in social work principles and techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills to address any challenges that may arise during activities
