Student Activities Director directs and oversees the development and organization of the university/college's extra-curricular programs including special events. Sets up social events and has a participatory role in the Greek system, the student government, and student run clubs. Being a Student Activities Director approves funding for various student activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Student Activities Director typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Student Activities Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Student Activities Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Assists the physically, emotionally and cognitively impaired individual and family to explore appropriate avocation/leisure pursuits.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Willingness to perform a variety of simple repetitive tasks
    • Organized and detailed in work performance.
    • Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.
    • Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility.
    • Comply with the Residents' Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures.
    • Perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined below.

    Sitting

    1-2 hours per 8 hour work shift. Alternates frequently to walking.

    Walking

    5-7 hours per 8 hour work shift. Alternates frequently to standing and occasionally to sitting.

    Standing

    3-4 hours per 8 hour work shift. Alternating frequently to walking and occasionally to sitting.
