This role will collaborate closely with various university departments to develop and implement comprehensive programs and strategies that support student retention, satisfaction, and overall success. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other university departments to plan, implement, and coordinate initiatives and programs that facilitate the successful transition, retention, and achievement of students. Assessment and Data Analysis: Coordinate assessment efforts and effectively communicate results to inform decision-making. Use data analysis to develop strategies and campaigns aimed at reducing attrition rates and improving overall student satisfaction and retention. Supervision and Leadership: Provide strong leadership by supervising coordinators and administratively overseeing tutors, interns, mentors, and other full-time positions within the Student Success department. Compliance: Ensure that all procedures and practices within the department adhere to System, State, and Federal guidelines related to student success and retention. Budget Management: Manage the fiscal operations of the department by establishing cost controls, managing budgets related to student success, access, and inclusion testing, and seeking external funding sources, including grants, to supplement services and support for students. Collaboration with University Leaders: Collaborate with university leaders on programmatic, administrative, and policy issues designed to support student access, retention, and success. Retention Strategies: Develop and implement retention-focused strategies and initiatives aimed at increasing student persistence and completion rates. Collaborate with academic departments, faculty, and advisors to identify at-risk students and provide targeted interventions and support. Leadership Over Key Programs: Provide strategic leadership and oversight over First-Year Experience, TRiO programs, Pathway Programs, Tutoring Services, Academic Advising, and the Testing Center. Ensure these programs align with the institution's mission and goals while fostering an integrated and holistic approach to student success. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in education, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or a related field. At least five (5) years of experience in a leadership role within higher education Ten (10) years of experience in college student development, organizational development, college student programming, and/or leadership. Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. Experience with budget management and grant writing. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to present information clearly and concisely. Preferred Qualifications Ten years of progressively responsible management experience, including some supervisory experience, preferably in student success, academic affairs, or retention. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful student success and retention initiatives. Knowledge of current trends and best practices in student success, retention, and leadership of TRiO, Pathway Programs, Tutoring Services, Academic Advising, and Testing Center. Knowledge of leadership theory, multicultural initiatives, and student development. Experience in using the Banner Student Information System (SIS). Experience with developing well-rounded student leaders in a higher education setting. Experience with first year student programming and community engagement Experience managing and supervision of staff and students.
